"The greens themselves have been built to USGA standards and are superb" - Mark Flanagan, Editor of Yorkshire Golfer Magazine

About The Course

Burstwick Country Golf is a newly established golf club in the East Riding of Yorkshire - set in 115 acres of contoured, tranquil countryside. The club was created in August 2004, and has a bright future ahead with much prosperity.

The idea was to create a challenging course with winding fairways and demanding doglegs with well guarded greens. With the experience of Jonathan Gaunt as the architect, we knew the outcome would be fantastic.

The club has now been open over 4 years, and is maturing every step of the way, with trees growing and fairways thickening, and now over 350 members, the future looks promising.

Vital Statistics

The golf course is an 18 Hole Par 70 plan with a very “Inland Links” feel, set in and around 2 fields belonging to the Golf Club. Members have been every impressed with the way the course has come on within the past 4 years, and are positive that Burstwick will soon be one of the leading Clubs in the area.

The layout has been brilliantly designed to test every golfer. There are a whopping 73 bunkers and 6 water hazards on the course to challenge players on every hole offering a risk-reward opportunity on each shot. This is what golf is all about - when you're playing well you are rewarded with birdie and par chances but it you are off target then the hazards will make sure you go home with sand in your clothes and water in your shoes!

The magnificent architecture of our course

There are over 5000 young trees which were planted between 2003 and 2006, and many are already over 15 feet tall, compared with 2 feet when they were first planted. But because the trees are all still very young, the Course itself plays as an Inland Links. Much of the time the wind can be very challenging, changing what would be a simple 9 iron on a calm day, into a stinging 3 iron.

Note: Dress code for the Clubhouse and Golf Course requires that denim, tracksuits, non-collared t-shirts, hoodies, etc are not allowed. Also polo shirts and jumpers with large logos are not welcome. Tailored trousers, polo shirts, turtle necks, sweatshirts, and tailored shorts are welcome. If you have any questions regarding dress code, please do not hesitate to contact the club.
